The story of Femme en Rouge

Femme en Rouge is not walking away in defeat. She is walking toward the life she decided she deserved.

I created Femme en Rouge while imagining myself leaving behind everything that no longer served me — toxic relationships, harmful situations, and the people who had diminished my peace.

She represents the moment survival becomes a decision to rise.

Her back is turned because she no longer needs permission, validation, or closure from what she leaves behind. She moves forward with purpose. She fiercely protects herself and her children, determined to lead them toward something safer, stronger, and more beautiful.

The red is not simply sensual. It carries passion, courage, defiance, and the fire it takes to reclaim your life. She embodies the woman who finally understands a hard truth: protecting her future may require walking away from her past.

I painted her through the evolving language of my signature Lumière Inversée technique. Her form emerges through light and shadow — strength revealed, rather than announced.

Shipping

• I inspect every print, then pack it with protective, acid-free materials
• The 12″ × 16″ Collector’s Edition ships using the safest method for its size and destination
• Most orders ship within 3–5 business days, and you receive tracking once your artwork is on its way
• International shipping is available; customs duties, taxes, or import fees are the recipient’s responsibility
• If your print arrives damaged, contact us within seven days with photos of the artwork and packaging, and we will arrange a replacement

Care

Frame behind UV-protective glass or acrylic. Keep the artwork away from direct sunlight, excess moisture, and high humidity.

A minimalist black or deep-red-accented frame lets those red soles stay the star.

Ten percent of proceeds from every art sale supports FavorHouse of Northwest Florida and Gulf Coast Kid’s House — organizations helping children and families affected by abuse.
