The story of Lady Blue

She is what happens when strength allows itself to be loved again.

I painted Lady Blue in 2019, during a season when I was learning to open my heart again. Not from a place of need, but as a woman who had learned to stand firmly on her own.

She represents strength, confidence, and the courage to stay open after life gives you every reason to close off. She can protect herself. She can stand up for what is right. And she can still allow tenderness in. Her softness does not diminish her power. It proves she no longer has to choose between the two.

The original also let me explore matte black against gloss black. One surface absorbs the light; the other reflects it. As you move, the depth shifts, and from that darkness the luminous blue figure rises, still, sculptural, and impossible to overlook. On canvas, with my hand back in her highlights, that shift is the closest it has ever come to the original.

Shipping

• I inspect and embellish every canvas myself before it leaves the studio
• Each canvas ships boxed, corner-protected, and wrapped for its size and destination
• Because each piece is hand-finished, please allow 2–3 weeks before your canvas ships; you receive tracking once it is on its way
• International shipping is available; customs duties, taxes, or import fees are the recipient’s responsibility
• If your canvas arrives damaged, contact us within seven days with photos of the artwork and packaging, and we will make it right

Care

Hang away from direct sunlight and excess humidity. Dust gently with a dry, soft cloth. No glass needed.
